EASTER EXHIBITION
14 March-11 April 2025
Artists who view faith as a significant influence on both their work and life are exhibiting together in this Easter exhibition. Dieter Engler, a familiar name to our audience, is curating a showcase of Rita Broadway’s work, which highlights the artistic and life struggles of artists he feels compelled to share with the public. The exhibition also features a selection of Dieter’s own less known, but still captivating graphics in well recognised “Dieter’s style”.
Rita Broadway “Through the Eyes of Jesus”
Rita Broadway’s powerful series “Through the Eyes of Jesus” acts like a stations of the cross but in a unique and captivating way as might have been seen by Jesus himself. The works are expressions of faith and hope for the artist who struggled with mental illness and rejection herself. A selection of her other extra-ordinary works will also be on display.
Dieter Engler “Print Survey Exhibition”
Dieter Engler, well known as a painter, has also a long history of printmaking. This survey spans over 45years of prints and related work. For Engler, printmaking and painting have always been parallel activities, each one working with the other in his exploration of the world and our place in it, most often in the simple theme of a house in a landscape.
SALA 2025
The Way of Water
Curator: Diana Bradshaw
Register by 29 April 2025
EXHIBITION
25 July – 22 August 2025
Diana Bradshaw, the curator for this year’s SALA exhibition, invites artists to explore the multifaceted concept of water in their work. The exhibition, titled The Way of Water, encourages artists to examine the diverse ways in which water can be interpreted: as a liquid, solid and gas in form, or perhaps as a symbol of life, transformation, or renewal, or as a force of nature that shapes the world around us. It calls for a deep reflection on the environmental, cultural, and emotional connections that water evokes. Through this exploration, the exhibition aims to showcase how water can inspire creativity, provoke thought, and highlight its profound impact on our lives and the natural world.
This project is proudly supported by the City of Mitcham’s Grant Program.
