Life @ Death 2018 “Day of the Dead”
The annual Life@Death exhibition provides a forum to examine the relationship of life and death through Art and is presented in conjunction with the Uniting Church Mitcham. The original concept was devised by Dieter Engler and the exhibition is held to coincide with Easter. In 2018 the exhibition runs March 16th to April 11th and registration closes on Monday February 26th.
Artists at all stages in their creative development are invited to apply to participate. Download the registration form here.
Life@Death 2018 invites artists and interested people of all cultures and beliefs to make a contribution to a discussion around the theme “The Day of the Dead” in the form of art works or even costumes and food. Download Dieter’s full essay on the theme here.
Our artist in residence for 2018 is Korean-born fashion designer Nathan Song and we look forward to his creative contribution to the exhibition and discussion on our opening night.
We are also pleased to have the sponsorship of Alfred James Funerals and welcome their support of Life@death’s commitment to discussing issues around death in our culture.
