Thank you for participating in the 2020 Life@death exhibition “Requiem”. As you know the exhibition essentially didn’t happen because of Covid 19. In 2021 we are repeating the exhibition theme and are again inviting you to submit your work. Entry will be free of charge.
It is sort of fitting that a theme like “Requiem” should be repeated as it literally means “quiet again” or to seek peace again. The peace that is sought is in the face of death and loss – and with the last 12 months in mind, it is fitting that we have another opportunity to come to terms with all that has happened.
You may submit exactly what you did last year. Or you may add to it or create something new. Whatever you do, it will stimulate our discussion on our opening night as we confront and wrestle with our current world. Sam Prance-Smith, our artist/chef in residence will be on hand to help us think as well as feed us, something that good art does albeit at a deeper level than even our stomachs!
I look forward to your contribution to Life@death 2021, Requiem #2.
