Gallery One is an independent arts initiative, located within the Mitcham Cultural Village, promoting and showcasing excellence in the local art and crafts community.  One of the longest running organisations of its kind in Australia, Gallery One has evolved over a span of 37 years into an education facility with a robust exhibition program and retail outlet.

The exhibition program provides opportunities for emerging artists to exhibit under the guidance and mentorship of established artists.

Gallery One holds weekly art and craft classes for adults and children, tutored by some of South Australia's most respected artists.  Students are encouraged to become active members of the gallery by participating in exhibitions.  Specialised workshops and artists' demonstrations are a feature of the annual program.

Gallery One sells original artwork and innovative hand-crafted gifts in its delightful bluestone-walled atrium.  Many items are not sold elsewhere and all are created exclusively by South Australian designers.

Visitors to Gallery One can see classes in action, relax with a coffee, browse in our Gallery Shop or chat to a participating artist.

Gallery One also provides opportunities for individuals to learn new skills and make new friends by participating in our volunteer program.
